LUNCH TIME RANT . . . recent events.

I don’t condone violent protest. But, I do believe in Civil Disobedience. We often forget that the men and women that shaped this country were protestors. It is a part of our tradition. It’s in our blood.
I also understand what it feels like to believe you've been dealt a dirty. hand . . . To feel the rules are against you, and that the system is rigged. (I experienced the Johnson/Nixon years)
Keep it peaceful. Let's hope there are no casualties. I do not wish to see another Jackson, or Kent State.
I also recognize the bigot that may not have had the opportunity, as I, to intermingle with so many great people of different races and cultures, or has been blessed with the education to understand the beauty of those differences amongst us as well as the commonalities that we all share. Many of us have been privileged to that great diversity, whereas there are those that have been condition by the bigotry in which they were raised or even fell peer to. I don't condone bigotry or racism, but I do recognize these Americans are victims of the same rigged system.
The enemy is not your fellow man that has a different opinion than you, it is the often the media, that arouses people's emotions by manipulating half truths, by creating fear in order sell more advertising. The enemy is the haters that perpetuate hate. The enemy is the trolls that play with your emotions. And, your emotions can often be your most dangerous enemy.
The enemy is arrogance. The ones that feel that are right and everyone else's opinion is meaningless. The arrogance of the man or woman whose only need is to satisfy their own ego.
Most of all the enemy is ignorance. We should be protesting for better schools, higher standards and much better pay for our teachers. (I know I'm a little bias:>)) Teachers that recognize the differences between right and wrong and can nurture our children into brilliant adults who can communicate, who can understand their differences and work towards a solution that can better tomorrow, not just today, or a solution that is merely a quick fix without consideration to the consequences. The teachers that can motivate and perhaps teach a child to be better parent to their child, and someone that respects other beliefs . . .

Okay, okay, I know, get your off f***king soap box, Rob . . .  I will, once you folks get your shit together, be decent f***ing Human Beings, and quit letting me down.
Please excuse the recent rants. I haven't eaten any red meat this week....  back to work.
