Death Doesn't Come Easy is narrated by "Handsome" Harry Long, a capricious filmmaker whose sarcasm, despair, and wit tells a story that is comical and sensual at times while often dark and cynical at others.
Told through interior monologue, Harry fondly remembers his love for "Rita Tobinsky, a 15-year-old enchantress . . . his best friend: a bully with a penchant for movies. . . his time penniless on the streets of Los Angeles . . . and ultimately to his calling in the porn industry.
